Matt began his repair career in December of 2005 as an apprentice at Johnny Paul's Music Shop in Aledo, TX where he worked until late 2016. In his time there he honed his repair skill under watchful eyes specializing in woodwind repairs. In March of 2012 he went to Indianapolis and spent some time learning everything he could from David Straubinger and obtained his Straubinger certification. Then after Johnny Paul had a near fatal motorcycle wreck a few weeks later in April of 2012, Matt stepped into the role of shop foreman over 3 additional repairmen (2 of which, Brad Waresback and Joseph Suson, he has the distinct pleasure of working with again at WM1st!). He also has acquired a fair amount of experience and knowledge in store management and operations, sales and customer service, working emergency repair at various marching contests and concert festivals, running pick up/ delivery routes/ sales/ paperwork as an Educational Representative, and of course helping work at instrument rental drives to help get the next generation of musicians started on their path (and helping to put their parents minds at ease). Matt is very excited to continue aiding the musicians of the north Texas area here with us at WM1st for many years to come! Matt lives in the Alliance area with his wife, Kerri and 2 daughters Elizabeth and Evelyn.
